San Pedro Dive Wreck - Wreck Diving on the Costa del Sol

The San Pedro dive wreck is one of the most interesting wreck dives along the Costa del Sol near Marbella. Located just offshore from San Pedro de Alcántara, this dive site offers the chance to explore a historic shipwreck that has become a thriving artificial reef.

The wreck lies at approximately 30 metres depth and provides an exciting dive for Advanced Open Water divers or those with deep diving experience. Over the years the structure has become covered in marine growth and now attracts a wide variety of Mediterranean marine life.

Divers exploring the wreck may encounter octopus, moray eels, nudibranchs, scorpionfish and schools of fish moving around the structure. The wreck itself provides plenty of interesting features to observe, including large metal sections and areas where marine life has colonised the surfaces.

Because of its depth and the possibility of mild currents, the San Pedro wreck dive is usually recommended for experienced certified divers who are comfortable diving deeper sites.

The Wreck Dive

The wreck sits on the seabed surrounded by sand and rocky patches, creating an excellent habitat for marine species. Visibility is often good, allowing divers to appreciate the full size of the wreck structure and observe the marine life that now lives there.
