The M482 Cable Layer was a Royal Navy cable-laying  barge and was intentionally sunk in August 1990 as part of the Camp Bay reef project.  In 17m of water it sits upright on a sandy bottom with the bow facing north. Its large funnel was removed and laid on its starboard side.  The wreck provides ideal conditions for the Padi Advanced Open Water diving courses with the Adventure Wreck Dive.  With gained experience the wreck provides for the Wreck Speciality course with wreck penetration.
